New crack at Crystal River nuclear plant casts doubt on repair plan
Progress Energy has said no one could have predicted or prevented the problems at the Crystal River nuclear plant.”
Let me see if I get this right. We don’t understand how the Crystal River containment really works, but we completely understand how every other containment works. So we don’t understand what is happening in the real, physical world, but we completely understand computer simulations of the real world. GIGO. How comforting! Remember, the NRC saw the original plan to cut the CR3 containment in 2008 as well as the first repair plan in 2010. Both plans failed. Third time’s a charm?? Nope-cracked again. The same analytical tools are being used on other containments.
